About Me

Hi there!  I'm Sasha, and I write point-ed sticks!  I'm passionate about crafting, and I've been playing with string for as long as I can remember.  My mom taught me how to crochet at five and knit at six.  Since then I've learned to tat, spin, and sew a little.  I'm left-handed, so I'm always thinking of new ways to talk about knitting that's more "handed-neutral".

Outside of crafts, I like to read and ride my bike.  I'm also involved with a local entertainment company where I walk on stilts, make balloon animals, play with fire, living statue, and help the aerialists be prettier (I danced until my knee gave out, so I have very strong opinions on movement aesthetics).  I'm also a graduate student currently working towards my masters in German Studies.  I'll probably continue on to the doctorate level, although I don't really know what I'd like to do after that.  Right now my research interests are mostly in opera/literature interaction (aka, how does moving a narrative from the page to the operatic stage change it and what can a musical analysis add to understanding a text).

Feel free to email me or leave me comments on anything.  I'm very open to suggestions :)
